Kae Marie's Art

 My name is Kaley and I have been creating art since I could hold a pencil. Art has always been there for me and I've relied on it greatly to express myself in ways that words couldn't. Being an only child, I had a lot of alone time and often turned to art as a way to entertain myself and distract myself from life's many obstacles. I took a hiatus for a few years and then taught myself how to paint at age 17. I was constantly told as a child that I should be an artist someday. I wanted no parts of it due to my lack of confidence in my skills. I never would have thought that I would become an artist when I grew up. Nowadays, I am very grateful to be able to call myself an artist and share my vision with people.

I like to use many different mediums and styles within my artwork. I try to constantly change my artwork up and bring new visions to life! I am inspired by many things. I look for inspiration in different eras, emotions, classic art, life experiences, religions, music, film, self portraits that I take of myself and use as a reference,  mental health, and the more macabre aspects to life.

My artwork can be quite dark and with that being said, I do not wish to offend anyone. I paint people and situations that may be deemed as disturbing to many. People tend to not want to look at the dark reality of what happens in life whether it is death, mental health, drug addiction, deeper subjects, and so forth. My artwork explores that. I like to paint subjects that have had difficult lives; some individuals that let it get the best of them and some that overcame their struggles.  I find it important to look at the darker side of life for many reasons. If I can elicit any emotion within you by having you view my art, I feel that my art is serving a purpose; whether it is happiness, sadness, anger, or disgust. I paint what I am passionate about and what I feel I need to paint.  There are people that understand the message of my artwork and there are some that do not. I've never tried to appeal to the majority, therefore my art is a reflection of that.

In addition to my artwork, I am now offering spiritual supplies! Ever since I was a child, I was able to connect with the spirit realm and was fascinated by different religions and spiritual concepts. As a spiritual practitioner, I decided it was time to share a bit of my spiritual tools and recipes instead of keeping them to myself!
